Recipe: Instant Pot Mashed Sweet Potatoes

I don't know about you, but mashed potatoes just scream "winter" to me. Something about the mushy, gooeyness, and creaminess of mashed potatoes makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. This dish is super quick and easy to make, and pairs really well with red meat or chicken. Here's a step-by-step on how to make this wonderful side dish.


4 lbs sweet potatoes

1 cup water

2 tbsp butter

1/2 cup milk

Salt to taste

Cinnamon to taste


1. Peel and cut potatoes into 1 inch cubes and place in instant pot

2. Add water to instant pot and cover, making sure the vent is sealed

3. Cook the potatoes under high pressure for 8 minutes

4. Once finished, use a colander to drain the water from the potatoes

5. Return the potatoes to the instant pot, and use a potato masher to mash them up

6. Add butter, milk, salt, and cinnamon to taste

7. Serve and enjoy!
